Austin now has a rescue!
AUSTIN needs a rescue space asap! Bull lurcher type. 3-4yr old entire male. Has had 1st vacc and kc vac. A rather bouncy chap and I mean BOUNCY!! Will hang off the run door just looking out for you so he is possibly a jumper!!! Absolutely lovely temperament! Not had a thorough dog test yet but so far so good!

Does Austin's pound not home directly to the public via enquiries to the local dog warden as well as using groups like SAS?
Are there likely to be any funds left in the kitty to neuter him do you think? He looks like a special boy!

Re: Austin now has a rescue!
no the pound do not home direct. We find this very dangerous.
We will see how he goes finding a place, as the ones we do neuter need to be hard to place, we just haven't got the funds to do them all really and this boy has no major issues.
I am just not sure why he hasn't been snapped up, as very friendly with other etc. This is one of the dogs that needs a special e mail sending out to more rescues, to get him out there, we just havent had the time, rang all lurcher and greyhound places, but no room or not interested, so we need to start looking farther afield, for this little boy.

Re: Austin now has a rescue!
He doesn't look like a Lurcher in that photo Wendy, none of the Lurcher rescues will take him if he doesn't look like one no matter how he is bred. Tilly is technically a Lurcher, Greyhound/Belgian Malinois but isn't a lurcher to look at so no rescue would take her if she needed rehoming. Bull Lurchers are difficult to rehome as well but it depends on their temperament and behaviour.
